Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a wine estate in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest in the region. The vineyard extends to around 19 hectares (46 acres) and is planted chiefly to Merlot, with Cabernet Franc making up about 10 percent of plantings. The core estate vineyard is situated across the road from Château Pétrus and adjacent to Château Lafleur. This site has more gravel than either of its neighbors, which likely has a role in the more refined style of the wine. La Fleur-Pétrus is typically vinified in cement and stainless steel, and then aged in a mixture of new and old French oak for 18 months. Annual production is around 45,000 bottles.
