特點
Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is a highly regarded producer in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the Brunier family having owned the estate for over a century. The 2001 vintage is a classic blend, primarily composed of Grenache (60%), Mourvèdre (15%), Syrah (10%), and 15% other permitted varietals. This wine underwent 21 months of aging in neutral French oak foudres. The 2001 is considered an outstanding vintage, noted to be in a particularly excellent drinking window even 17 years after its release (as of 2018). It's described as a very fine and elegant vintage, showing well two years after release, good at 10 years, and still excellent at 20 years.
【Considered one of the greatest Vieux-Télégraphe vintages since 1998, offering exceptional depth, purity, and aging potential.】
This wine displays a medium garnet robe with a brick rim. The aromatic core features raspberry and dried cranberry fruit, accented by notes of cocoa, Provençal herbs, mulling spices, walnuts, and loam. It is medium-bodied, beautifully fresh, with seamlessly integrated alcohol and tannins. The flavor profile mirrors the nose, layered in the middle and long on the finish. Other tasting notes highlight autumnal, leafy, and dried red berry fruits, red licorice, blue fruits, layered plum flavors, an elegant yet powerful character, youthful freshness, extremely fine tannins, a plush and refreshing feel, and a saline kick on the finish. Polished wood, cedar, and black cherry jam contribute to a sweet palate, with a long, silky texture, lovely acidity, a menthol note, and salinity. The wine also exhibits the trademark garrigue, kirsch, leather, earth, and mineral notes.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions include lamb and skirt steak.
