🏰The 2020 Clos de la Chapelle Volnay 1er Cru is a 【Burgundy gem from a Monopole vineyard】, celebrated for its exceptional balance and remarkable purity of fruit. This 1er Cru Monopole, with its 50-year-old vines in clayey limestone and white marl soils, benefits from a unique microclimate that fosters early ripening while maintaining elegance and structure for aging. The 2020 vintage itself was noted for homogenous sugars and textbook pH levels, resulting in wines of great depth. Expect a ruby and garnet hue, with an elegant bouquet of ripe red berries, baking spices, and a floral background, alongside notes of forest floor and dried leaves. The palate is supple and generous, offering ripe sweet red berry fruit, with a polished, smooth attack and a long, harmonious finish supported by fine-grained tannins and juicy acidity.
🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir is a fantastic match for lamb shank, duckling filet, or sweetbreads with morels. It also shines with triple cream cheeses like Brillat-Savarin or Chaource, as well as turkey, game, and various poultry dishes.
🥂 Ideal for a romantic dinner, a special family gathering, or a sophisticated tasting session. Serve between 15-16°C (59-61°F) to best appreciate its nuanced aromas and flavors.
