🏰 The 2019 Burgundy vintage is celebrated as 【one of the best vintages in a generation】, marked by a warm and dry summer with perfectly timed rain, resulting in exceptionally clean fruit. Louis Jadot's Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, from this stellar vintage, promises a wine of profound depth and elegance. While specific tasting notes for this exact wine and vintage are not detailed, general 2019 red Burgundy notes describe a dark and sophisticated nose with dried roses, cassis, violets, and toast, leading to a smooth, very long, velvety texture with perfectly integrated tannins.
🍴 This magnificent Grand Cru red Burgundy calls for equally magnificent food. It pairs exquisitely with roasted game birds like pheasant or duck, prime cuts of beef such as a filet mignon or côte de boeuf, and rich mushroom dishes. Also consider aged hard cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional wine for a grand celebration, a serious wine tasting, or a momentous occasion. Its complexity and structure suggest it will continue to evolve beautifully with further cellaring. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F) after decanting for at least an hour to allow its full aromatic spectrum to emerge.
BACKGROUND
Louis Jadot is a prominent Burgundy wine producer and négociant. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the primary grape varieties featured. The house was established in Beaune in 1859 by Louis Jadot. The company has seen several leadership changes: Gagey's son Pierre-Henry took over as president in 1991, Gagey died in 1999, and Lardière retired in 2012. Frédéric Barnier, who joined in 2010, is now the head winemaker, and Thibault Gagey has joined his father Pierre-Henry in leading the firm.
