🏰 The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was generally warm and generous, producing ripe and opulent wines with good concentration, though some retained excellent freshness. Louis Jadot's Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a highly esteemed wine from a renowned producer, known for its power, complexity, and longevity. While specific detailed tasting notes for the 2018 vintage are still being widely published, Bonnes Mares typically offers a captivating bouquet of red and black fruits, floral notes, and earthy undertones, often with a hint of spice. On the palate, it is usually full-bodied with firm yet refined tannins, excellent acidity, and a long, persistent finish. The 2018 expression is expected to showcase the vintage's ripeness while maintaining the inherent structure and elegance of this Grand Cru. 【A powerful and complex Grand Cru Burgundy from a highly regarded producer.】
🍴 This magnificent red Burgundy demands equally impressive food pairings. Consider classic French dishes such as roasted squab, pan-seared duck breast with berry sauce, beef Wellington, or a rich mushroom and truffle dish. It also pairs beautifully with mature, earthy cheeses like Époisses or Comté. For a Western pairing, a perfectly grilled prime rib or venison loin would be superb. In an Eastern context, a refined Cantonese roast goose or a delicate, slow-cooked lamb stew could be a harmonious match.
🥂 This wine is perfect for a landmark celebration, a serious collector's tasting, or a truly special occasion where a profound and age-worthy wine is desired. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F). A decant of 1-2 hours would be beneficial for a younger vintage like this, allowing its complex aromatics to fully express themselves and softening its youthful tannins.
