FEATURES
🏰 The 2014 Futo He-li-an-thus is a 【highly-rated, limited production Bordeaux-style blend from Napa Valley】, showcasing a singular expression of its unique terroir. Crafted by Tom Futo and winemaker Jason Exposto, this wine hails from a single vineyard in the southern Napa Valley foothills, characterized by rocky volcanic soils and significant diurnal temperature shifts. The 2014 vintage, with its much smaller crop, resulted in an elegant wine, aged 18-20 months in French oak. This blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, displays an opaque ruby/purple color. It offers sweet, flowery blueberry and black raspberry fruit, dark cherry, plum, cassis, and dark-fleshed fruits, complemented by layers of mint, spice, Indian ink, lush florals, sweet tobacco, and a violet top note. Full-bodied yet fresh and intense, with light, svelte, mineral-rich tannins and balanced acidity, expect complexity with hints of graphite and herbal nuances on the finish.
🍴 This robust Napa Valley blend pairs exceptionally well with rich red meats like beef, lamb, and venison, as well as hearty stews and aged cheeses.
🥂 Accessible in its youth with a minimal decant, this wine possesses the substance to age for decades. While enjoyable now, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and can be savored over the next 10-15 years. Ideal for collectors and special occasions.
