FEATURES
🏰 The 2017 harvest at Quinta do Crasto was notably early, a result of a warm and dry winter that initiated an accelerated growth cycle and moderate water stress. This challenging year ultimately led to lower yields but produced grapes with excellent concentration and an optimal skin-to-pulp ratio, resulting in exceptional wines. This Douro red, Vinha Maria Teresa, presents a deep ruby color. The nose is remarkably fresh and complex, offering elegant notes of gum cistus, wild berries, spices, plum, dark chocolate, cassis, and vanilla. On the palate, it is compact and seductive, with smooth-textured tannins that are in perfect harmony with retronasal notes reminiscent of fresh wild berry fruit, plum, dark chocolate, licorice, and vanilla. It is rich, with a broad and long flavor profile, culminating in an engaging, balanced, and long-lingering finish. Robert Parker notes beautiful, delicious, and very ripe fruit with a gripping finish, highlighting its focus and potential, suggesting a darker flavor profile with plums as it opens. The wine is a field blend from centenarian vines, aged for 20 months in new oak (90% French, 10% American). 【 A unique wine from centenarian vines, praised for its extraordinary freshness, complexity, and impressive aging potential of 30 years or more. 】
🥂 This powerful and complex red wine is ideal for a special dinner, a gathering of wine connoisseurs, or a celebration where a wine with significant character and aging potential is desired.
