🏰Domaine Albert Grivault's 2021 Pommard 1er Cru “Clos Blanc” is a rare and elegant expression of Pinot Noir, despite its 'Blanc' designation which historically referred to the wine's color when made by monks. This Premier Cru is a testament to the beauty of Pinot Noir, offering elegance and freshness. The grapes are completely destemmed, and the wine is aged for 18 months in barrels with limited new oak usage.
🍴 It reveals a beautiful, intense garnet color. The bouquet is aromatic with red fruits, primarily strawberries, complemented by spicy and vanilla notes. On the palate, it's full-bodied and powerful with fine tannins, a pleasant fruity length, and spicy accents. Some notes also suggest dark and black fruit with light raspberry tones. This wine pairs perfectly with poultry supremes, lamb mignon with herbs, duck, goose, and other game birds.
🥂 An ideal choice for a refined dinner party, a special celebration, or as a thoughtful gift for a discerning Burgundy enthusiast. It has an aging potential of 10 to 15 years, and decanting is recommended when young.
