🏰 The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was characterized by ripe and sunny conditions, with cool nights preserving freshness and tension, resulting in wines praised for their balance and purity. This Pierre Boisson Pommard 2020, from a rising star in Burgundy, offers a more transparent and aromatic expression of the appellation than traditional powerful Pommards. It displays a deep ruby color with youthful purple hues. The nose reveals red cherry, wild strawberry, light blackcurrant, violet, gentle spice, and a hint of forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy acidity, crunchy red fruit, silky tannins, and a bright, lively finish with subtle mineral grip. 【 Premier Cru–adjacent quality from a rising star 】
🍴 This Pommard is a fantastic partner for classic dishes like roast chicken, duck breast, pork tenderloin, or rabbit with herbs. For modern pairings, consider grilled beetroot, lentil salads, or wild mushroom crostini. Internationally, it complements Italian roast pork (porchetta) or Japanese yakitori.
🥂 Approachable now with aeration, this wine will cellar gracefully for 8–15 years, evolving in complexity while retaining its hallmark freshness. It can also be enjoyed within 5 to 7 years.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Pierre Boisson/Anne Boisson is a family winery. The winery is run by father Bernard (retired in 2016), son Pierre and daughter Anne. Although it is the same winery, the wines produced by the three people will be labeled separately. on their respective names. They jointly own 8.5 hectares of land around the Cote de Beaune, and the vineyard's terroir is wet stone and flint, giving the grapes more minerality.
