🏰 The 2018 Jacques Prieur Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a 【prestigious and structured expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir from the historic Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru vineyard】. This wine is known for its intense spice, texture, and depth. While specific 2018 vintage notes for this wine are not detailed, young Grand Cru Pinot Noir typically offers vibrant fresh red fruit, delicate floral notes, and a firm yet refined tannic structure, promising remarkable development with age.
🍴 This magnificent red Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine. Consider roasted poultry like guinea fowl with herbs, pan-seared duck breast with a subtle cherry reduction, or a luxurious mushroom risotto. It also harmonizes wonderfully with coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon, and a selection of fine aged cheeses such as Comté or Brie.
🥂 An ideal choice for significant celebrations, fine dining, or for impressing discerning Burgundy enthusiasts. This wine possesses excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve, gaining complexity and nuance over many years in the cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, France. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Domaine Jacques Priuer.
