🏰 The 2021 vintage in Burgundy, particularly for Nuits-Saint-Georges, is characterized by a finely balanced, classic representation of the appellation. Chantal Lescure Nuits-Saint-Georges 2021 offers vibrant red fruit, subtle spice, and earthy complexity. It presents a vibrant ruby color. Upon opening, notes of black cherry, raspberry, and orange zest emerge, followed by deeper hints of sweet spices and subtle undertones of wet earth. On the palate, the structure is silky, supported by well-integrated tannins and an acidity that provides freshness. It's a harmonious, medium-bodied palate with a polished, long finish, making it a bold and expressive Nuits-Saint-Georges. 【Finely balanced, classic Nuits-Saint-Georges with vibrant red fruit and earthy complexity】
🍴 This Nuits-Saint-Georges is a versatile food wine, pairing excellently with rich, savory dishes such as roast duck with cherry sauce, grilled lamb chops, or a classic beef bourguignon. It also complements game animals, braised beef in sauce, sirloin or rib of beef, and aged cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
🥂 Ideal for a special dinner, a gathering of Burgundy lovers, or a celebratory meal. It's an excellent choice for cellaring or enjoying in its youth, and decanting for about 30 minutes before serving can enhance its aromatic profile.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chantal Lescure was founded in 1975 by the husband and wife team Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont. They primarily cultivate Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay grapes. The estate spans approximately 18 hectares from Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits to Volnay in the Côte de Beaune, a rarity in today's valuable Burgundy vineyard landscape. After Chantal's passing in 1996, her son Aymeric undertook a thorough restructuring of the estate and appointed François Chavériat as the estate manager.
