Chantal Lescure, Cote De Beaune Le Clos Des Topes Bizot, 2022
🏰 Chantal Lescure's 2022 Côte de Beaune Le Clos des Topes Bizot is a red wine from a generally excellent Burgundy vintage, known for ripeness, freshness, and good balance. Domaine Chantal Lescure, founded in 1975, has been organically certified since 2006. The 'Clos des Topes Bizot' is a unique, east-facing parcel on the Beaune mountain, featuring clay and pebbles over limestone, with vines planted in 1960. This specific cuvée is 100% Pinot Noir. Expect an intense ruby colour, charming aromas of small red fruits, violets, and mint. The palate is full of finesse, subtle yet rich in taste, with the dynamism characteristic of beautiful reds from limestone soils. 【A single-vineyard Côte de Beaune from old vines (planted 1960) farmed organically, offering a refined expression of Pinot Noir from a unique terroir.】
🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir pairs wonderfully with white meats such as roasted chicken or turkey, small hot meat pies, or a selection of mild to medium cheeses. It would also complement dishes featuring mushrooms or delicate game birds.
🥂 Perfect for a refined dinner with friends, a special Sunday lunch, or an intimate gathering where a wine of subtle complexity and charm is desired. Its approachable nature also makes it suitable for a casual yet elegant evening.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chantal Lescure was founded in 1975 by the husband and wife team Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont. They primarily cultivate Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay grapes. The estate spans approximately 18 hectares from Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits to Volnay in the Côte de Beaune, a rarity in today's valuable Burgundy vineyard landscape. After Chantal's passing in 1996, her son Aymeric undertook a thorough restructuring of the estate and appointed François Chavériat as the estate manager.
