🏰 The 2014 Joseph Roty Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a stunning expression of Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's most coveted Grand Cru vineyards. Joseph Roty is renowned for its old-vine expertise and meticulous winemaking, crafting this wine from a tiny, legendary parcel. The 2014 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered a good, classic vintage for red wines, offering freshness and purity of fruit. Wines from Griottes-Chambertin are known for profound depth and silky refinement, often displaying aromas of ripe black cherries, wild strawberries, dark plums, and floral notes of violets and rose petals. Subtle hints of forest floor, truffle, and warm spices like clove and cinnamon add complexity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and seamlessly textured, with fine, velvety tannins and vibrant acidity, culminating in a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of spice and earth. 【布根地老藤精髓】
🍴 This Grand Cru pairs beautifully with roasted duck, venison, or braised beef. It also complements rich truffle-infused dishes and aged cheeses perfectly. Consider veal or other game birds.
🥂 This wine is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and terroir, offering a seamless blend of intensity, elegance, and age-worthy potential. It's a must-have for collectors and lovers of fine Burgundy, suitable for a significant celebration or a sophisticated dinner.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Joseph Roty is one of Burgundy's leading wineries with the largest cult following in the country. The family has been producing wine since 1710 and has 12 hectares (30 acres) of vines with an average age of over 60 years, producing a range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines considered to be some of the best on the Côte d'Or. one. The core estate is none other than Joseph Rotti, himself a legend in the region who died in 2008 not only because of the quality of the wines, but also because of his reluctance to be interviewed by reporters and share details of their winemaking methods.
