Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
Henri Bonneau owns 6.5 hectares of vines spread among 13 different parcel in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation of the Rhône Valley, France. Most of his vines, approximately 90% are devoted to Grenache. The remainder of their vineyards is planted to a mix of Mourvedre, Syrah, Vaccarese, and Counoise. Henri Bonneau, who died in 2016, was a critically acclaimed Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer. Bonneau was the twelfth-generation winemaker in the family, which has an extensive history in the southern Rhône.
