🏰The 2021 Burgundy vintage, though challenging with drastically reduced yields due to frost and disease, produced superb white wines, especially Chardonnay, known for their 【intense concentration, amazing freshness, and vibrant acidity】. Montrachet Grand Cru, a jewel of Burgundy, is a world reference among Chardonnays. Expect an intense, complex nose with white-fleshed fruit, dried fruit, nuts, and spices, complemented by delicate vanilla and toasted nuances. The palate should be tightly wound with cool, white-fleshed fruit tones and minerality.
🍴 For a Montrachet Grand Cru, consider pairing with finely prepared fine fish and crustaceans like pan-fried turbot with saffron butter, foie gras, or poultry and white meats roasted or served in a cream sauce. For an Eastern touch, steamed garoupa with ginger and spring onion, or delicate dim sum like scallop dumplings would be exquisite. For a Western pairing, seared scallops with a beurre blanc sauce or roasted chicken with truffles would be ideal.
🥂 This Montrachet Grand Cru is perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a milestone celebration, or a special tasting event where its complexity and elegance can be fully appreciated. It's a wine to impress discerning guests and celebrate significant achievements.

Domaine Baron Thenard Although based in Givry, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south, Domaine Baron Thénard is the largest of the famous Le Montrachet Grand Cru One of the vine owners, the winery was founded in the mid-19th century, but the family allegedly owns vineyards that date back to the last century. Until the Count in the 2000s, Baron Ténard had close links with Burgundy négociant Remoissenet, with much of his product bottled by the house. Today, most of the winery's wines are bottled under its own label.
