Confuron Cotetidot, Gevrey Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru, 2000
🏰The 2000 Confuron Cotetidot Gevrey Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru hails from a good, charming, and accessible Burgundy vintage, with wines generally mature and ready to enjoy. Gevrey-Chambertin wines are renowned for their power and structure, typically displaying 【aromas of red and black fruits, licorice, and earthy notes】. With its age, this 1er Cru will have developed complex tertiary aromas of 【undergrowth, leather, and gamey nuances】.
🍴 This mature 1er Cru Burgundy is an exquisite pairing for game animals, braised beef in sauce, sirloin or rib of beef, and grilled or roast pork. It also complements rich, savory dishes like coq au vin, porcini beef stew, or venison carpaccio. Don't forget to pair it with Epoisses cheese for a classic match.
🥂 A truly special bottle, perfect for a celebratory dinner where rich, savory dishes are served. It is likely in its prime drinking window, offering a complex and evolved tasting experience. Serve at 15-17°C to best appreciate its nuanced character.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a wine producer in the northern part of Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The winery covers 14 hectares (34 acres) and produces a variety of wines from the Corton Grand Cru. The domaine has been owned by the de Nicolay family since 1834. Countess Chandon de Briailles took over the estate in 1982 and worked to revitalize the estate and its wines. As is the case in much of Burgundy, the estate's white wine is made from Chardonnay and its red from Pinot Noir.
