FEATURES
🏰 The 2011 vintage for Côte-Rôtie, while not as lauded as some blockbuster years, still produced wines of character. The Mathilde et Yves Gangloff Côte-Rôtie La Sereine Noire 2011 is a prestigious red wine made from 100% old-vine Syrah, with an average age of 40-50 years, blended from the Mollard and Côte Rozier vineyards. It is known for its unique depth, refined aromatic intensity of wild berries, black olives, and smoky notes, with a velvety structure and evolving complexity. CellarTracker users describe it as a classic Côte-Rôtie that would benefit from another 5-7 years in the cellar, noting a nice finish. The wine is concentrated, vibrant, fresh, and refined, with notes of peppery herbs, ripe, sweet black, white, and red cherries, red plums, and floral nuances. It is considered drinkable from 2025-2045. 【Unique depth and refined aromatic intensity from old-vine Syrah】.
🍴 This Syrah-based wine is a classic pairing for lamb. It would be excellent with roasted lamb rack with rosemary, grilled steak, or game birds. For Eastern cuisine, consider pairing it with Cantonese roast pigeon or a rich braised duck with star anise.
🥂 This wine is ideal for a special dinner, a celebration, or a serious wine tasting. Its complexity and aging potential make it a thoughtful gift for a wine connoisseur.
