🏰 The 2000 vintage for Bonnes Mares Grand Cru from Domaine de la Vougeraie is described as having sensational aromas of crushed raspberries and new wood. It is firm but with a generous center, supporting an elegant structure, and is a wine worth aging for at least five years. Fewer than 2000 bottles were made, making it a rare find. Domaine de la Vougeraie is also notable for its commitment to organic and biodynamic agriculture, practices they have embraced since 1998 and 2001 respectively. 【 Sensational aromas of crushed raspberries and new wood, with an elegant structure. 】
This wine presents a very attractive deep ruby-red color with brilliant violet reflections. The nose is complex, initially mineral and almost smoky, then gracefully evolving into pure floral notes. On the palate, it is sumptuous, mouth-filling, and concentrated. The tannins are evident but not at all astringent, contributing to a finely textured mouthfeel that is never cumbersome. Its exceptional freshness makes one want to re-taste immediately, leading to an immensely long finish. Expect powerful tannin textures, violet and underbrush aromas, and dark berry flavors.
🍴 This Bonnes Mares Grand Cru pairs beautifully with delicate, sauced red meat dishes and most cheeses. Its robust structure also makes it an ideal partner for roasted game, wine-based or creamy sauces, hearty stews, and strong cheeses like Époisses.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or a thoughtful gift for a discerning Burgundy enthusiast. Its proven aging potential makes it suitable for cellaring and enjoying on a significant future occasion.
BACKGROUND
Domaine de la Vougeraie is an estate formed by the merger of multiple vineyard assets acquired by the Boisset family in the Côte d'Or in Burgundy. One of the newer wineries in Burgundy, the first vintage produced was 1999. The winery is located in the village of Premo between Côte de Nuits, which is dominated by Pinot Noir, and Côte de Beaune, which is dominated by Chardonnay. It owns land in 6 Grand Crus, 8 Premier Crus and 11 rural appellations. Among them, the white wine produced by the small venue adjacent to Clos de Vougeot is very popular in Burgundy.
