Abbaye Sainte Marie De Pierredon, Luna Plena, 2022
🏰The 2022 Abbaye Sainte Marie de Pierredon Luna Plena is a 【rare "Mediterranean" style Sauvignon Blanc from IGP Alpilles, crafted from organically grown grapes with only 3700 bottles produced】. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is made from hand-harvested grapes grown on clay-limestone terroir, undergoing direct pressing and fermentation with natural yeasts, then aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks. It offers an aromatic and complex profile with exotic notes of passion fruit and white-fleshed fruits like vine peach. The palate is ample and balanced, supported by impressive freshness, leading to a finish marked by slight bitterness and great length. Expect a beautiful, captivating straw-yellow color, with fresh, elegant notes blending white-skinned fruit and citrus. Some tasters also note stone fruit, mango, and a generally super fresh, lively character.
🍴 This elegant white wine is very nice as an aperitif with various tapas based on seafood and Provencal products. It's superb with white-fleshed fish ceviches, plancha-grilled fish with a drizzle of Pierredon olive oil, or pretty cheeses like tome de brebis. It also pairs well with rich fish (salmon, tuna), spicy food, lean fish, shellfish, appetizers, and cured meats.
🥂 Excellent as an aperitif, for a summer gathering, or paired with a fresh seafood meal where its crispness and aromatic complexity can truly shine. This wine is best consumed within 3 years of its vintage (by 2025). Serve well chilled.
