🏰 The 2002 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered very good, producing wines with good balance and aging potential. For white Burgundies, it was a classic vintage, offering both richness and acidity. Bâtard-Montrachet is one of Burgundy's most prestigious white Grand Crus, renowned for its power, richness, and complexity. Chartron et Trébuchet is a respected producer. 【 One of Burgundy's most powerful and complex white Grand Crus. 】
Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru wines are full-bodied, rich, and powerful, with intense aromas and flavors of almonds, ripe apple, white flowers, honey, and spices. They boast incredible complexity even in youth, with notes of dried fruit, flowers, and spices opening up to honey. They also exhibit vanilla and smoky, toasty aromas, with ample and generous palates, notes of toasted almond and marzipan, and nice tension on the finish. The length in the mouth is remarkable. This wine will develop favorably for 10 to 20 years after the vintage.
🍴 This rich wine is ideal paired with equally rich appetizers and elegant main courses such as foie gras, lobster, scallops, pan-fried sea scallops, saffroned monkfish, and lobster thermidor. It also pairs well with finely prepared fine fish and crustaceans, poultry and white meats (roasted or in a cream sauce), and soft cheeses. A suggestion is fattened roasting chicken stuffed with morel mushrooms.
🥂 A truly exceptional wine for the most elegant and celebratory occasions, such as a milestone anniversary, a significant achievement celebration, or a gourmet tasting dinner. It's a wine to be savored and appreciated for its depth and grandeur.
