🏰 The 2022 vintage in Burgundy is generally considered a very good to excellent year, particularly for red wines, offering richness, concentration, and ripe fruit while maintaining freshness. Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is one of Burgundy's most esteemed vineyards, known for producing powerful yet elegant Pinot Noir wines with exceptional aging potential. These wines typically exhibit a complex bouquet of dark berries, violets, and earthy notes, often with a firm tannic structure in their youth that softens beautifully with time. Gerard Perazeau's interpretation of this Grand Cru would likely emphasize the vineyard's inherent power and finesse. 【Exceptional Grand Cru aging potential】.
🍴 This profound red Burgundy demands equally substantial and refined food pairings. Think roasted venison, truffle-infused beef tenderloin, or a rich mushroom pâté. For an Eastern pairing, consider a slow-braised pork belly or a delicate, savory duck preparation.
🥂 A magnificent wine for a truly special occasion, such as a significant anniversary, a high-stakes business dinner, or a dedicated tasting among serious collectors. Its grandeur makes it a centerpiece for any memorable event.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Gerard Perazeau is located in Burgundy, France, specializing in the grape varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. For four generations, the esteemed Groffier family has been central to Domaine Peirazeau. Jules Groffier founded the vineyard, later dividing it between his children: Robert Groffier, who established "Domaine Robert Groffier," and Bernadette Groffier, who married Mr. Peirazeau and created "Domaine Peirazeau-Groffier." While most grapes were initially sold to prestigious wine merchants, Laurent Peirazeau decided to expand family production starting with the 2019 vintage under the name "Gerard Peirazeau & Fils."
