🏰 The 1990 Chambertin Grand Cru from Philippe Charlopin is a testament to an 【excellent vintage for Burgundy, producing rich, ripe, and long-lived wines】. This Grand Cru is renowned for its power and complexity. After 36 years, expect a profound bouquet of dark fruits, forest floor, game, and spice, beautifully integrated with tertiary notes of truffle, leather, and dried savory elements. The palate should be opulent yet balanced, with a lingering, complex finish.
🍴 This powerful red Burgundy demands equally robust food pairings. Think rich game dishes like venison stew or roasted wild boar, slow-cooked lamb shank, or strong, aged cheeses. For an Eastern pairing, consider a deeply flavored Cantonese braised beef brisket or a rich Peking duck.
🥂 Ideal for milestone celebrations, serious wine tastings, or as a prestigious gift for a discerning collector. This is a mature wine, so expect potential sediment and a delicate cork. Stand the bottle upright for several days before serving. Careful decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to breathe and separate from sediment, but be gentle to preserve its delicate older aromas. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
