🏰 The 2012 D'Auvenay Bourgogne Aligote Sous Chatelet is an extraordinary and rare white Burgundy, with 【only 675 bottles produced in this vintage, showcasing immense power and energy within an elegant frame】. Lalou Bize-Leroy, the 'first lady of Burgundy,' crafts this biodynamic wine with supreme elegance, precision, and richness. The 2012 vintage is noted for its ripe citrus fruit.
🍴 This unique Aligote pairs wonderfully with shellfish, pasta, rich fish like salmon or tuna, mild and soft cheeses, and cured meats.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a connoisseur's tasting or a special dinner where a unique and age-worthy white Burgundy is desired. It requires significant aeration, often 6+ hours, to fully reveal its complex layers of matchstick, ripe citrus, blossom, and steely minerality.
BACKGROUND
Domaine d Auvenay is a small Burgundy wine estate located in Saint-Roman. It is the third entity in the Leroy empire, named after Lalou Bize-Leroy and was previously run by her husband Marcel Bize until his death in 2004. There are 4 hectares (10 acres) of vines, but these include plots of the Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares and Bâtard-Montrachet, as well as a handful of top cru vineyards, including Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières and Meursault les Gouttes d 'Or.
