🏰 The 2018 Henri Germain Meursault Chevalières comes from a Burgundy vintage that was 【largely very good for both whites and reds】, marked by one of the hottest, driest growing seasons since 2003. Despite the warmth, the best whites from 2018 are described as balanced and refined, with a surprising freshness. Meursault, in particular, showed good potential, with fresher colors and deeper fruit, often made in a reductive style that enhanced the overall impression of freshness. This vintage produced a blockbuster crop for white grapes, offering generous and approachable wines.
🍴 This rich and refined white Burgundy is an excellent pairing for classic French dishes like roasted chicken with cream sauce, pan-seared foie gras, or rich seafood such as scallops in butter sauce. For an Asian touch, consider pairing it with steamed crab or a delicate fish prepared with ginger and spring onion.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special family gathering, or a tasting focused on high-quality white Burgundy. Its balance and refinement make it a versatile and impressive choice.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Henri Germain is located in the village of Meursault in Burgundy, France. The primary grape varieties cultivated are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate was founded in 1973 when Henri Germain purchased some Meursault vineyards from his wife's family, the Pillots, and acquired additional land in Chassagne. Currently, the domaine owns around 7 hectares of land, spread across Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Beaune.
