🏰 The 2022 Burgundy vintage is proving to be excellent, with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir performing beautifully under ample sunshine, leading to wines with an abundance of color, flavor, and vibrancy. Despite challenges like frost, heat, and drought, timely rains ensured full and even ripening, resulting in wines of real depth and ripeness, showing enormous charm and vitality. The style is fresher and lighter than might be expected from such a hot season.
Theo Dancer's 2022 Roc Breïa Chardonnay has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of pear, white flowers, bread dough, and hazelnuts. It is medium to full-bodied, with a fleshy palate and a satiny attack that transitions into a charming, lively mid-palate with good cut and a saline finish. William Kelley rated it 92/100. Other notes describe a satisfying heft with rich notes of oil and nuts, layered with red apple and stone fruits. It is a deep, intense wine, slightly reduced, but made in a more easy-drinking style than estate wines, with good liveliness and none of the flatness sometimes found in Mâconnais Chardonnay. 【Rising star's Mâconnais Chardonnay from old vines】
