🏰The 2022 Jean-Marc Boillot Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a regal and elegant expression of this legendary 布根地 (Burgundy) white wine, showcasing incredible complexity even in its youth. This Chardonnay Grand Cru develops predominantly floral aromas on the nose, with subtle notes of toast and a touch of menthol. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, revealing gorgeous minerality and lasting flavors, culminating in a long and delectable finish with subtle amber notes of candied fruit and sweets. The 2020 vintage, similar in style, was praised for its weight and complexity, suggesting the 2022 will also be a profound wine.
🍴 This magnificent white 布根地 is a perfect match for delicate fine fish or shellfish in sophisticated sauces, smoked salmon, and foie gras. It also pairs beautifully with roast chicken, turkey, and other shellfish dishes.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a truly special occasion, a milestone celebration, or a luxurious tasting experience. To fully appreciate its depth and elegance, a one-hour decant is recommended.
BACKGROUND
Domaine J.M. Boillot (also known as Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot) is a Burgundy wine estate producing pure, aromatic wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The operation is based in Pommard but it makes a large range of wines from numerous appellations mostly located in the Côte de Beaune. Jean-Marc Boillot worked with his grandfather Henri Boillot between the late 60s and 1984 when he became winemaker for Olivier Leflaive. He created his own domaine in 1989 after inheriting vines from his grandfather, and later from his maternal grandmother, Etienne Sauzet's daughter.
