🏰The 2022 Hubert Lamy Saint Aubin Derriere Chez Edouard 1er Cru Rouge is a 【vibrant and elegantly structured Pinot Noir】 from 50-60 year old vines, offering an exquisite bouquet of wild strawberry, crushed stone, and wild hedgerow. This medium-bodied Burgundy presents supple tannins and a noticeable pepperiness from whole cluster fermentation, along with lovely fresh reddish fruit and vivid acidity, culminating in a beautifully balanced profile.
🍴 This delightful red Burgundy pairs wonderfully with salmon and tartar sauce, as well as classic poultry, veal, and game dishes like deer and venison.
🥂 A fantastic choice for a celebratory dinner, a special gathering with friends, or an evening dedicated to exploring the nuances of a youthful yet promising Premier Cru Burgundy. While enjoyable now, giving it some time in the bottle (drink 2027-2040) will allow its complexities to further unfold. Decanting is recommended to help it open up and express its full aromatic range.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hubert Lamy is a wine estate based in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy, France, producing well-regarded wines from that appellation. The majority of the domaine vineyards are in Saint-Aubin, with around two-thirds of the holdings are given to Chardonnay and the remaining third, Pinot Noir. The domain was established in 1973, but the Lamy family history of vine growing in Saint-Aubin dates back to 1640. Since setting up, Hubert Lamy has passed management of the domaine onto his son Olivier Lamy and his wife Karine.
