BACKGROUND
Jacques Puffeney, often referred to as the 'Pope of Arbois', is a legendary winemaker in the Jura region of France. He produced his first vintage in 1962 and became renowned for his traditional, uncompromising approach to winemaking. His Vin Jaune, made entirely from Savagnin and aged under a veil of flor (voile) for over six years, is considered a benchmark for the style. It offers profound complexity, with intense aromas of walnuts, curry spice, and dried fruits, backed by piercing acidity and incredible longevity.
