【Domaine Leroy's Pommard Les Vignots 2009 is a remarkably centered and poised village-level effort, praised for its terrific minerality, inner sweetness, and an explosion of compelling red fruit.】 The 2009 vintage in Burgundy was a ripe year, and this Pommard Les Vignots from Domaine Leroy showcases a "sexy nose with Leroy signature perfume, stems, grass, red currant and coffee beans". Despite the ripe vintage, the nose shows a good amount of greenness. The wine is full-bodied, with plum, violet, and warm earth notes merging gracefully into dense, serious, and velvety flavors. It literally explodes on the mid-palate and finish with compelling red fruit, rose petals, and tar, with flavors continuing to build through to a multi-dimensional, textured finish. The palate is round and silky, without the rustic edge often associated with Pommard.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing various types of suggestion east or west corresponding to wine cost IN ENGLISH
This powerful yet elegant Pommard pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin with a rich reduction sauce, or game birds like duck or pheasant. Its earthy and red fruit notes also complement mushroom-based dishes and aged hard cheeses. For an Eastern pairing, consider Cantonese braised beef brisket, or a rich claypot chicken with Chinese mushrooms, where the wine's structure and fruit can balance the savory depth.
