🏰The 2007 Domaine Leroy Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is a highly acclaimed Pinot Noir, with critics rating it as high as 96-98 points, showcasing its exceptional quality and potential for long-term aging. This red Burgundy offers a radically different and deeply pitched bouquet of red and blue fruit aromas, nuanced by notes of sauvage, underbrush, leather, and tea. The palate is powerful, fresh, and sleekly muscled, blessed with ample underlying mid-palate sap and a serious, almost brooding quality, yet the finish explodes with phenomenal length. Despite 2007 being a challenging vintage for Burgundy, this wine stands out for its sensual character, energy, and amazing aromatics.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This elegant and powerful Pinot Noir would be exquisite with Cantonese roasted squab or pan-seared duck breast with a cherry reduction. For Western cuisine, it's a classic pairing for duck, goose, and other game birds.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: An ideal wine for a significant anniversary, a high-end tasting event, or a special gathering of Burgundy enthusiasts. It's currently ready to drink but will continue to evolve gracefully for years.
