🏰 【Experience the profound depth of the 2020 Confuron-Cotetidot Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, a testament to traditional Burgundian winemaking and a standout from the highly acclaimed 2020 vintage.】 This Grand Cru Pinot Noir, crafted by a domaine renowned for its organic viticulture and 100% whole-cluster fermentation, offers a vivid, deep ruby red hue. Expect a complex bouquet of ripe red and black fruits like wild strawberry, cassis, and cherry, interwoven with earthy, sauvage nuances, subtle spices, and hints of mint or liquorice. The palate is powerful, opulent, and elegant, with vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins that promise exceptional aging potential, developing further layers of complexity over two decades or more.
🍴 This virile and complex Grand Cru demands equally sophisticated pairings. It's a magnificent match for feathered game, especially in a rich wine sauce, roast lamb with gravy, or classic Burgundian dishes like beef bourguignon and coq au vin. Hearty red meats such as rib steak or roasted beef, as well as rich, earthy mushroom risotto, will also be beautifully complemented. Pair with soft-centred cheeses (excluding blue varieties) for a harmonious finish.
🥂 An essential addition for serious collectors and connoisseurs, this 2020 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is perfect for milestone celebrations, prestigious dinners, or as a cornerstone in a developing cellar. Serve at 14-16°C to allow its full aromatic spectrum to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a wine producer in the northern part of Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The winery covers 14 hectares (34 acres) and produces a variety of wines from the Corton Grand Cru. The domaine has been owned by the de Nicolay family since 1834. Countess Chandon de Briailles took over the estate in 1982 and worked to revitalize the estate and its wines. As is the case in much of Burgundy, the estate's white wine is made from Chardonnay and its red from Pinot Noir.
