FEATURES
🏰 The 1957 Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Reserve Grand Hotel is a truly rare and historical bottle, a testament to the longevity of fine Burgundy even from a challenging vintage. 【This wine offers a unique glimpse into the past, showcasing the profound tertiary evolution of aged Pinot Noir.】 Expect delicate aromas of dried leaves, forest floor, mushroom, and leather, interwoven with subtle tobacco, dried cherry, and plum notes, perhaps with a hint of spice. The fruit will be very ethereal and faded, with a focus on savory, earthy, and umami characteristics. The palate would be light to medium-bodied, with incredibly soft, fully integrated tannins and vibrant acidity, contributing to its remarkable endurance. The finish is likely long and ethereal, highlighting its aged complexity rather than primary fruit. 🍴 This extremely old Burgundy calls for delicate pairings such as roasted squab, pheasant, truffle-infused dishes, fine mushroom preparations, or simply enjoyed on its own to appreciate its profound complexity. Avoid overpowering flavors. 🥂 A truly exceptional wine for a very intimate and reflective tasting among connoisseurs who appreciate the nuances of extremely old 布根地. It serves as a magnificent conversation piece, celebrating a specific moment in time. Serving Suggestion: Extreme care is needed when opening due to the age of the cork and capsule; an Ah-So or Durand opener is highly recommended. Decant very gently, just before serving, to separate any sediment. Avoid excessive aeration, as very old wines can fade quickly. Serve slightly cooler than typical red wine temperature, around 14-16°C (57-61°F), to preserve its delicate aromas and structure. It is always advisable to have a backup bottle ready, as the condition of such old wines can be unpredictable.
