FEATURES
🏰The 1999 vintage in Margaux was quite good, laying the foundation for wines that, while not as flamboyant as some peers, certainly deserve attention. Segla, the second wine of Chateau Rauzan-Segla, 1999, is a 【dignified classic, offering a lighter style of Margaux elegance】. It presents subtle aromas of grilled meat with mulberry undertones, evolving into notes of coffee, old leather, tobacco, and spice box, with vague prune and nutmeg notions. Fully mature, it's medium-bodied, nicely balanced, and elegant on the palate, with dark fruits dancing among whispers of truffle and earth, and a persistent finish.
🍴 This mature Bordeaux red pairs beautifully with all types of classic meat dishes, including veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, and game. It also complements Asian dishes, rich fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta.
🥂 Drinking wonderfully today, this wine is ideal for a sophisticated dinner or a tasting of mature Bordeaux. While some suggest drinking up, it will certainly hold nicely for another 7-8 years. For older vintages, very little decanting is needed, just enough to remove sediment.
