FEATURES
🏰 The 2011 Franz Hirtzberger Hochrain Riesling Smaragd is a 【captivating example of mature Wachau Riesling】, renowned for its richness, fine poise, and energetic character. This Smaragd Riesling, from one of Austria's greatest estates, shows a deep golden hue, signaling maturity and concentration. The nose opens with dried apricot, baked peach, preserved lemon, and honeycomb, enriched by nuances of chamomile, warm stone, and a touch of almond. Despite its age, a bright mineral core persists, giving the wine lift and vitality. The palate has broadened with age, gaining a layered, almost velvety texture, with youthful fruit intensity transitioning into more complex, honeyed tones, yet remaining strikingly fresh thanks to its well-preserved acidity.
🍴 This mature and complex Riesling is an excellent partner for rich, flavorful dishes. Consider roasted pork belly, pan-seared duck breast, or creamy seafood preparations. Its mineral tension also makes it a good match for Austrian specialties like Wiener Schnitzel or a hearty goulash.
🥂 Ideal for a special occasion dinner, a vertical tasting of fine Rieslings, or as a thoughtful gift for a connoisseur of aged white wines. It's a wine that offers both intellectual pleasure and sensory delight.
