The wine undergoes fermentation in old sherry butts and is aged under a layer of flor (yeast) for eight months. This process gives the wine its distinctive nutty, honeyed, and mineral flavors.
BACKGROUND
Navazos Niepoort Vino Blanco was created by Equipo Navazos in collaboration with Dirk Niepoort from Portugal. The wine is inspired by traditional unfortified wines from the Jerez region of Spain, made from Palomino Fino grapes grown on albariza soils.
