La Vougeraie, Vougeot Clos Du Prieure Monopole, 2022
🏰 The 2022 Burgundy vintage is proving to be excellent, characterized by a hot and dry summer balanced by timely rains and cool nights, which helped retain crucial acidity. This resulted in silky, red-fruit Pinot Noirs with expressive floral notes and ripe tannins, offering surprising freshness and energy. Wines from this vintage show real depth and ripeness, with enormous charm and vitality, making them approachable even when young. Domaine de la Vougeraie's Vougeot Clos du Prieuré Monopole is a testament to this excellent vintage. 【 Vibrant and silky Monopole Pinot Noir from an excellent 2022 vintage 】
🍴 This Pinot Noir offers a delicate bouquet of red cherries, wild strawberries, and rose petals, accented by hints of spice, earthy undertones, and crushed stone. The palate is vibrant and silky, showcasing layers of fresh red berries, herbal notes, and subtle minerality, balanced by fine tannins and refreshing acidity. Some notes also mention aromas of strawberry, coffee, and game, leading to a well-balanced, silky, and refined wine with a vigorous mouthfeel and a long finish. It pairs beautifully with duck, goose, and game birds. Consider roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, or soft, earthy cheeses. Its freshness and red fruit profile also make it excellent with lighter game or charcuterie.
🥂 This wine is delicious now and promises enjoyment for many years to come. Its inherent charm and vitality make it suitable for relatively early consumption, perfect for a celebratory dinner or a gathering with friends who appreciate fine Burgundy.
