🏰 The 2010 Auguste Clape Cornas is a monumental Syrah from a legendary Northern Rhône producer, hailed by Robert Parker with a perfect 100 points as a "tour de force". This magnificent vintage is noted for its incredible concentration, aromatic complexity, and undeniable minerality, with 25-30 years of evolution. Expect a wine with 【intense notes of charcoal, licorice, blackberries, blueberries, and scorched earth, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and remarkably sweet yet firm tannins】 that require bottle age to fully unfold.
🍴 Cantonese food pairing: Superb with roasted lamb shoulder, braised beef short ribs, or rich game dishes like venison pie. Also pairs beautifully with strong, aged cheeses.
🥂 Fit for event: An extraordinary choice for a milestone celebration, a serious Rhône vertical tasting, or a prized addition to any discerning collector's cellar, destined for long-term aging.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Auguste Clape is a wine estate located in the Cornas region of the Northern Rhone Valley. The estate was founded by Clape's grandfather, a planter who moved to Cornas from Languedoc after the growers' strike of 1906-07. The estate consists of just 8 hectares (20 acres) of old vines in a prime, sunny, steeply terraced location on the west bank of the Rhone. and a small amount of Saint-Perret Blanc from just 0.2 hectares (0.5 acres) of Marsanne.
