🏰 The 1995 Louis Jadot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a 【superb example of a mature Burgundy Pinot Noir from a very good vintage】, showcasing the depth and complexity that only age can bring. This wine presents a deep red color with some sediment, offering a complex nose of black fruit, plum, black cherry, floral notes, tobacco, and damp clay. The palate is mouthfilling, masculine, and robust, with mostly resolved tannins and a lovely sensual feel, still drinking very well with high acidity keeping it fresh. It's a concentrated, rustic Grand Cru with excellent balance and a long, reverberating finish.
🍴 This elegant and mature Pinot Noir is a classic pairing for roasted duck, goose, and various game birds. It also complements braised beef, game in sauce, and intense, aged cheeses. Consider dishes with earthy elements like truffle or mushroom risotto to echo the wine's developing tertiary aromas.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a milestone celebration, a connoisseur's tasting, or a quiet evening savoring a truly evolved wine. Given its age, handle the bottle gently to avoid disturbing any natural sediment. A careful decanting just before serving is recommended to separate sediment and allow the wine to breathe, revealing its full aromatic spectrum. Serve at 16-18°C (61-64°F). Always check the cork and capsule for condition before opening, as older wines can sometimes have fragile closures.
BACKGROUND

The company has seen several leadership changes: Gagey's son Pierre-Henry took over as president in 1991, Gagey died in 1999, and Lardière retired in 2012.
