Joseph Drouhin, Beaune Clos Des Mouches Blanc 1er Cru, 2017
🏰The 2017 Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc is an 【absolute classic in the making and an iconic bottling from Drouhin】, showcasing the elegance of white Burgundy from a vineyard known for producing world-class Chardonnay. The 2017 vintage reveals the elegance of Drouhin's whites, being floral with citrus notes, round, well-balanced, and attractive. This outstanding wine presents a complex floral nose of white lilac and white rose, evolving towards grilled hazelnut and almond. With aeration, it can reveal wonderful notes of white truffle, citron, honey, and nutmeg. On the palate, it is very lively with a rich texture, structure, and minerality, offering a succulent core of fruit and impressive acidity, with zesty white peaches and warm grilled hazelnuts on the finish.
🍴 This versatile white Burgundy pairs beautifully with rich seafood like pan-seared scallops, grilled lobster, or creamy fish dishes. It also complements roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, or a variety of soft and hard cheeses. For an Eastern culinary experience, consider delicate Cantonese steamed fish, Japanese tempura, or a rich Korean seafood pancake.
🥂 An excellent choice for a special celebration, a sophisticated dinner, or a serious white Burgundy tasting. Its complexity and aging potential make it a prized addition to any cellar.
