🏰Drouhin-Laroze's Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a **【powerful and precise expression of this iconic 布根地 vineyard, known for its intense tannins and complex aromatic evolution】**. The 2002 vintage was homogeneous, dense, and structured, developing nice complex aromatic expressions. In its youth, it shows a raspberry red to deep garnet color. The full-bodied bouquet is reminiscent of black fruit, liquorice, spices, with woody and leather hints. With age, it develops notes of undergrowth, truffle, and candied fruit. The tannins are intense, powerful, and precise, leading to a long, unctuous finish.
🍴 A magnificent pairing for risotto with truffles, beef fillet with pepper sauce, roasted game, or coq au vin.
🥂 A grand wine for a significant celebration, a serious 布根地 tasting, or a special occasion demanding a wine of profound character and aging potential.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a wine producer based in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate mainly produces red wine from Burgundy's flagship grape variety, Pinot Noir. Representing a range of quality levels, from Grand Cru to "Country". Originating from the Gevrey vineyard acquired by viticulturist Jean-Baptiste Laroze in 1850, the domaine has been passed down through generations of the Laroze family and continued to expand with the marriage of Suzanne Laroze to Alexandre Drouhin in 1919. With 11.5 hectares (28.5 acres) of vineyards spread throughout Burgundy, it is run by the fifth and sixth generations of the family.
