De L'arlot, Nuits Saint Georges Clos Des Forets Saint Georges 1er Cru, 2022
🏰 The 2022 De L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges 1er Cru is a highly anticipated red Burgundy from a vintage that is generally lauded for producing wines of excellent quality and good volume. While specific tasting notes for this exact wine and vintage were not found, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru wines are celebrated for their robust structure, intensity, and capacity for long-term aging. They typically offer a complex bouquet of dark berries, cherry, spice, and earthy notes, often with a firm tannic backbone that softens beautifully with time, revealing greater depth and nuance. 【Distinguished Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru】.
🍴 This powerful yet refined Pinot Noir would be an exceptional match for hearty and flavorful dishes. Consider roasted or grilled red meats such as beef tenderloin, lamb chops, or game. It also pairs wonderfully with rich mushroom dishes, truffle-infused preparations, or classic Burgundian stews like coq au vin or beef bourguignon. For cheese, opt for medium-aged, firm cheeses like Comté or Gruyère.
🥂 This wine is ideal for a significant dinner, a special occasion, or for cellaring to allow its full potential to unfold. Its serious structure and evolving complexity make it a rewarding experience for discerning Burgundy enthusiasts.
BACKGROUND
Domaine de l'Arlot is a Burgundy producer based in the Côte de Nuits, famous for its Pinot Noir from select vineyard appellations. It has vines in several prestigious vineyards, including two top monopole vineyards - Clos de Forets Saint-Georges and Clos de l'Arlot. The l'Arlot vineyard was founded in the 18th century when the owners of the estate built walls. Domaine de l'Arlot was expanded in 1891 after being acquired by wine merchant Jules Belin. Pinot Noir is the dominant variety in most of the estate's vineyards, with a small amount of Chardonnay also produced, including a rare variety from Clos de l'Arlot.
