FEATURES
🏰 The 2006 Chateau de Fieuzal Blanc is a 【distinguished dry white Bordeaux, known for its balance of power and elegance, and its capacity to age gracefully】. While specific detailed notes for the 2006 vintage are less common, Chateau de Fieuzal Blanc typically offers a harmonious palate of grapefruit and green apple, nutmeg, minerality, and subtle oak. These wines, often a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, are celebrated for their vibrant expression, harnessing the power and minerality of Graves' famous river stones. Expect evolving notes of citrus, white peach, and a long, mineral finish as it matures. 🍴 This versatile white Bordeaux pairs perfectly with shellfish, sashimi, sushi, and all types of seafood. It also complements chicken, veal, and various cheeses. For a richer pairing, consider roast poultry or meaty and oily fish dishes. 🥂 An excellent choice for a sophisticated seafood dinner, a summer garden party, or as an elegant aperitif. This wine is well into its drinking window but can continue to evolve. Serve chilled, around 10-12°C (50-54°F), to highlight its freshness and complexity.
BACKGROUND
Château de Fieuzal is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Graves, Bordeaux, France. It was awarded Graves Grand Cru Classé status for its red wines in 1959 as part of the Graves classification. The estate vineyards are planted on soils of gravel, clay and sand encompassing around 75 hectares (185 acres) of land. Vineyards are planted to a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. Chateau de Fieuzal is named in honor of one of the earlier owners who managed the estate at the start of the nineteenth century. After the owners sold the estate it was broken up into two separate châteaux. It wasn't untill 1995 that the estates were reunified.
