🏰 【From the esteemed Domaine Arlaud, a biodynamic pioneer in Morey-Saint-Denis, the 1993 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a testament to the age-worthiness and profound complexity of top Burgundy Pinot Noir】. Hailing from an "underrated" yet "great success" vintage for red Burgundy, this wine embodies the powerful, structured, and individualistic character of Bonnes Mares. It reveals deep, complex aromas of dark fruits like black cherries, blackberries, and plums, gracefully evolving with aged notes of tobacco, leather, licorice, black pepper, and hints of truffles. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, supported by powerful yet smoothly integrated tannins and a lively acidity that maintains freshness. Expect a long, complex finish with persistent intensity, showcasing its mineral and earthy origins.
🍴 This mature Grand Cru Pinot Noir is an exquisite match for classic Burgundian cuisine, such as coq au vin or beef bourguignon. It also pairs beautifully with roasted game meats, feathered or furred game, delicate sauced red meat dishes, and strong, aged cheeses like Époisses.
🥂 A truly special wine for a milestone celebration or a contemplative tasting among connoisseurs. Given its age, expect a delicate cork and capsule; careful opening is advised. Decanting for 1-2 hours can help it fully express its tertiary aromas and soften any remaining firm edges. Serve at a cellar temperature of 14-16°C (57-61°F). This wine is drinking beautifully now, offering a glimpse into the elegance of aged Burgundy, and will continue to hold for several more years.
