🏰Comte Armand Bourgogne Aligote 2016 is from one of the most respected Aligoté producers, offering a 【powerful nose with rich stone fruit, oak, apple, and vanilla, balanced by ample acidity】. The 2016 vintage in Burgundy for white wines was generally good, known for its freshness. Expect a wine with notes of citrus, green apple, soft toast, apricot, peach, minerals, lemon rind, quince, honeydew melon, and a hint of cinnamon. It presents a pleasant liveliness and nice fruitiness on the palate.
🍴 This crisp and refreshing Aligoté pairs wonderfully with shellfish and oysters, grilled or poached white fish, goat cheeses, fresh cheeses, and light vegetable dishes or salads with citrus dressings. It's also excellent as an aperitif, especially when served as a 'Kir' with a splash of Cassis liquor.
🥂 Ideal for aperitifs, refined but relaxed meals, seafood platters, or modern bistro cuisine, offering a characterful yet refreshing white wine experience.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Comte Armand is a Burgundy wine producer located in the Beaune-Cupoma region. It is famous for its Pinot Noir, especially from the estate's premier monopole vineyard, Clos de Epeneaux. Pinot. The domaine has been owned by the Armand family for nearly two centuries. During the French Revolution, the church confiscated 5 hectares (12 acres) of vineyards. For more than 100 years, the domaine consisted only of single-pole vineyards until 1994. The company was expanded in 1988 with additional plots at Volnay and later Auxey-Duresses. The winery now farms 9 hectares (22 acres) of vines organically, with an average age of 50 years and some up to 80 years old.
