🏰Veteran winemaker David Ramey continues his winning ways with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, crafting this impressive 2019 Chardonnay from the Martinelli Charles Ranch, known for its cool, coastal vineyard site. This is the fourth vintage sourced exclusively from the Martinelli Charles Ranch, located two miles from the Pacific at 1,115 ft elevation. The wine undergoes native-yeast and full native malolactic fermentation in barrel, followed by 12 months of aging in 15% new French oak. Critics praise its sleek, subtle, and complex style, a refreshing contrast to more overtly buttery and oaky Chardonnays.
Expect a vibrant and focused palate with notes of green apple, Meyer lemon, delicate oak spice, and mouthwatering acidity. Aromas include apple, lemon, honey, peach, and oak, leading to a luxurious palate with hints of dried apricot. It offers a mineral-like quality of slate and salt on the finish.
🍴 This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with seared scallops in a beurre blanc, fish, white meat, and cheeses, or mushrooms.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special seafood meal, or an evening of solo exploration.
