Château Couhins-Lurton is a wine estate located in the Pessac-Léognan region south of Bordeaux in southwestern France. The estate is classified as a Grand Cru for its white wines, but like many other estates in the region, it also produces (non-Grand Cru) red wines. It shares a history with its neighbor of the same name, Château Couhins, as until the early 1970s both were part of the same holding company. 14 hectares of land were reserved for red wine grape growing, with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, representing a change in the vineyard with more Merlot planted. The terroir is gravel and sand. The vineyard reaches a height of 50 meters at its peak.
