🏰【The 2021 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune is a towering success, hailed as an original that could only be made by the talented Jamet family】. This vintage unwinds with a mesmerizingly complex perfume of juniper, crushed violets, chamomile, blueberry jam, menthol, and herbal tea, complemented by licorice, black pepper, ferrous, and stemmy undertones. Despite its ripeness and density, it remains medium-bodied with velvety tannins, offering a fresher yet concentrated style that promises graceful aging for at least two decades.
🍴 This exquisite Côte-Rôtie pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, venison, or other game meats. Its peppery and herbal notes also complement dishes with truffles, rich stews, and aged hard cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional wine for a grand celebration, a serious Rhône tasting, or a special occasion demanding a wine of profound character and longevity.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jamet is a renowned wine producer located in Ampuis, at the heart of the northern Rhône wine region in France, celebrated for its traditional Cote Rotie wines. The estate spans about seven hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, scattered across small plots in the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde areas of Côte Rotie. Predominantly, the vineyards are planted with Syrah, complemented by minor plantings of Marsanne, Viognier, and Roussanne. Founded by Joseph Jamet in 1950. By 1976, Domaine Jamet started bottling its own wines. After Joseph retired, his sons Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul ran the estate. Currently, Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet oversee the domaine, joined by their son Loïc since 2015.
