BACKGROUND
Domaine Yves et Mathilde Gangloff is a well-regarded wine producer based in the northern Rhône region of Condrieu,France. (and best-known for its sumptuous, Viognier-based wines from that appellation). From the Côte Rôtie, Domaine Yves et Mathilde Gangloff produces Syrah from 2.4 hectares (six acres) of vineyard land at the lieux-dits Combard, Mollard and Rozier. These cooler sites, located in the Côte Blonde and Côte Brune, are situated primarily on steep hillsides and are composed of gneiss, granite and mica schist soils. Founder Yves Gangloff established the domaine with his wife, Mathilde, in 1987.
