Chantal Lescure, Pommard Les Bertins 1er Cru, 2014
🏰 The 2014 Chantal Lescure Pommard Les Bertins 1er Cru offers a 【classic expression of Pommard's structured elegance】 from a Burgundy vintage known for its freshness and purity of fruit. While the 2014 red Burgundy vintage was challenging, it yielded many lovely wines that are approachable and charming. Pommard wines are typically robust and built for aging, showcasing the power of Pinot Noir from the Cote de Beaune.
🍴 This powerful red Burgundy is a superb match for roasted red meats like beef tenderloin or venison, hearty game dishes, and earthy mushroom preparations. It also pairs beautifully with aged, firm cheeses.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner, a special occasion, or for those who appreciate a Burgundy with both immediate charm and potential for further development in the cellar. Serve at 16-18°C.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chantal Lescure was founded in 1975 by the husband and wife team Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont. They primarily cultivate Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay grapes. The estate spans approximately 18 hectares from Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits to Volnay in the Côte de Beaune, a rarity in today's valuable Burgundy vineyard landscape. After Chantal's passing in 1996, her son Aymeric undertook a thorough restructuring of the estate and appointed François Chavériat as the estate manager.
