🏰This 2010 Jacques Prieur Musigny Grand Cru is an 【extremely young, built-to-age beauty from a small, high-quality vintage】, offering a deep ruby-red color with intense purplish highlights. The 2010 Burgundy vintage, despite initial challenges, yielded a small crop of well-ripened grapes. The nose is refined and elegant with a panoply of spice elements, exceptionally fresh and dense black fruit, violet, and plum aromas. The palate is concentrated, rich, and velvety with a thick, satiny texture, and ripe, fresh, tangy tannins, leading to an explosively long and incredibly seductive finish.
🍴 This exquisite Burgundy pairs perfectly with sophisticated dishes like roast duck, roasted stuffed goose, or partridges. It also complements red meats such as braised duck with peas, veal shank with small vegetables, beef bourguignon, or aged rib of beef. For a truly luxurious pairing, consider lobster with red wine sauce or sweetbreads with morels.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a milestone celebration, a serious Burgundy tasting, or a gift for a discerning collector. This wine is still very young and built for aging; cellar for 10-18 years for full resolution of tannins, or decant for several hours if drinking now. Serve at 16-18°C.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, France. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Domaine Jacques Priuer.
